Cape Town Bay
Latitude: 33° 54’ S  Longitude: 18° 26’ E  Time Zone: GMT +2

Situated at the southernmost point of Africa, the Port of Cape Town is ideally located for shipments to Europe, the Americas or the Far East .

The Port of Cape Town is the second busiest Port in South Africa , handling over 3000 vessel calls per year and about 20% of South Africa ’s Container traffic.

The Port offers ideal working facilities for the handling of dry or liquid bulk cargoes, deciduous fruits, frozen & fresh fish products, breakbulk cargoes and container handling. The Port also has Dry Docking facilities capable of handling vessels with LOA up to 370m. Bunkering facilities and a 24 hour Off Port Limit Services are also available.

The entrance channel draft limit is 15.9m, however the draft limits alongside the various berths varies from 10 – 14m and the draft restriction at the allocated berth therefore needs to be taken into consideration.

The Port works 7 days a week, however Cape Town is known for its frequent strong to gale force winds, which may occasionally affect operations and vessel movements.
